The majority of sudden death in American youth sports (ages 6-17) from 2007-2015 were cardiac-related (heart) and occurred during practice within organized middle school sports according to a first-of-its-kind study published in the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Journal of Athletic Training. The majority of those affected were male with an average age of 13 years old. No previous studies have focused on sudden death in organized middle school, youth, and recreational youth sports in the United States.from Newswise Feature Channel: Sports http://bit.ly/2E8LmBh
